The National League Competition is an annual event and is very popular with the clubs in Wales. Each year the competition is fiercely fought to win the respective league title and, where possible, gain promotion to the next division. Even though there is a competitive element to these games the atmosphere is friendly and enjoyable.
The competition runs weekly, every Wednesday, from late April to August. Teams will play both home and away fixtures.
The National League is currently the only league affiliated to the WPA. However, there is the BIG (Boules in Gwent) League, which is run by a small dedicated committee. Should you require further information on the BIG League, please do not hesitate to contact us, and we can put you in touch with the organisers.
The 2018 League season commences on 25 April 2018. 24 Teams have entered, an increase of 2 on 2017, and these have been divided into three Divisions of 8 Teams. In order to accommodate the 2 additional teams in Division 3, 2 additional teams have been promoted from Division 3 and one additional team has been promoted from Division 2 thus eliminating the Byes that occurred in Divisions 1 & 2 in 2017.
