Welsh Petanque Association - About Us
1910 – The modern game was developed at La Ciotat, near Marseilles, France. 1958 – The International Federation of Petanque and Provencal Game (FIPJP) was created. 1974 – British Petanque Association (BPA) founded. Affiliated to the FIPJP the same year. 1985 – Scottish Petanque Association (SPA) was created. 1991 – The Cymru/Wales Region of the BPA was formed. 2004 – British Petanque Federation (BPF) was created. 2004 – The Welsh (WPA) & English (EPA) Petanque Associations were created. 2005 – SPA affiliated to the BPF. 2007 – Begin the formal closure of the BPF. 2007 – The WPA applies to affiliate to the FIPJP (Fédération Internationale de Pétanque et Jeu Provençal) and the CEP (Confédération Européenne de Pétanque). 2008 – The WPA affiliates to the FIPJP and CEP. |
