The following teams have qualified to represent Wales at the Home Nations Championship, hosted by the Whitnash Windmill Petanque Club, over the weekend of 12th/13th August 2023.
Congratulations to those teams representing Wales, but also to the two qualifying reserve teams and four teams which unfortunately failed to qualify. All the games were played in good spirits, even when it got wet in round five.

Rules of Play:
- FIPJP rules.
- Games will be timed – 60 minutes plus two ends.
- Lanes will be allocated.
Number of Teams: 14
Play begins at 10h00 – at the latest.
Competition Format: The format for the competition will be a five-round Swiss System using the FineBuchholz Number (fBHN).
A bye will be scored as a 13/7 win.
Teams will be ranked 1 to 14 based on the five rounds using the:
- Wins,
- FineBuchholz Number (fBHN),
- Points difference
- Points +
If two teams are tied, and one team has been awarded a bye-win, the team without the bye will be ranked above the team with a bye-win.
If two teams are still tied, then the result of the match between the two teams (if played) will be used to separate them.
Lunch (45 minutes duration) will take place after Round 3.
