International Women’s Day – updated
March 8
The WPA is hosting their second International Women’s Day (IWD) at Caerleon Pétanque Club on Saturday, 08/03/2025. The event will celebrate IWD and bring together women from across Wales who enjoy the game of pétanque.
This year’s theme for IWD is “Accelerate Action,” you will have the chance to learn more about pétanque events you can participate in throughout the rest of 2025.
Why not wear green, purple and white to celebrate this important day?
Forty (40) places are available for WPA and non-WPA players, so please help spread the word. The £5 entry fee will go towards prizes and a donation to Cyfannol Women’s Aid in Gwent.
Registration starts at 9:30 am, and play begins at 10:00 am. It will be in a melee format, and you sign up as an individual.
We will play two games in the morning, have a break for lunch, and play another game after lunch.
Tea and coffee will be available at £1 all day. There is a coffee shop adjacent to the pistes selling drinks and sandwiches if you are interested.
Light refreshments will be available after the games.
Kind regards
Ruth Long (Secretary to Caerleon Pétanque)
Jayne Dunn (WPA Volunteer Organiser)
