All WPA events are closed to non-WPA members. Players seeking to qualify for Wales must be full members of the WPA and meet any other criteria set by the WPA.

Venues for all the events still need to be confirmed. These will be added as we confirm them. If your club is interested in hosting any of the published competitions, contact a member of the  Management Committee.

Home Nations Championship Ranking

May 30

This year, the Scottish Petanque Association is hosting the championship at Stirling Petanque Club, located within the Stirling County Rugby Football Club ground.

Registration: Saturday 30th May at 09h00 to 09h30

 Rules of Play:

  • FIPJP rules.
  • Games will be untimed.
  • Lanes will be allocated for all games.

Number of Teams:  8 (5 Rounds)

Teams will not be seeded.

Saturday play begins: 10h00 – latest

Lunch – 13h30 to 14h00

  1. A whistle will sound at 13h30,
  2. All matches in progress will finish the end being played.
  3. Lunch will be taken. During this time, no practice play will occur on the active lanes.
  4. At 14h00, a whistle will sound to resume play.

Competition Format: Using a five-round Swiss System Ladder format, based on wins and points difference.

Teams will be ranked 1 to 8 using:

  • Wins,
  • Points difference
  • Points +

The eight teams have qualified to represent Wales in the Home Nations Championship.
