The Welsh women’s squad is preparing to travel to Loutraki, Greece, to compete in the 12th European Championship Triples: Women and Precision Shooting Championship: Women, taking place from 8–11 October 2026.

A total of 32 federations from across Europe have registered for what promises to be an exciting and highly competitive championship.

The Welsh Pétanque Association (WPA) is proud to announce that a full squad of four players will represent Wales. The team brings together experienced international competitors and new talent, with one player making her European Championship debut.

Experience and New Talent

Tansy Mayfield, Kym Jeffreys and Jayne Dunn have all previously represented Wales at World or European Championship level, bringing valuable international experience to the squad.

Meanwhile, Aimee Vaughan will be making her first appearance at a European Championship. For Aimee, the event will provide both a new challenge and an exciting opportunity to experience pétanque at the highest level.

Jean-Yves Robic will be supporting the team in his role as National Coach.

Continuing Wales’ European Journey

Wales first competed in the Women’s European Championship in Slovenia in 2010 and has continued to compete regularly on the European stage.

The squad’s participation in Loutraki continues that journey and demonstrates the WPA’s commitment to maintaining a strong Welsh presence in international women’s pétanque.
