The President’s Cup was held at Caerleon Petanque Club on Sunday, March 24th. The Executive would like to thank the Committee and club members for making their facilities available again.

Eighteen triple teams representing Abergavenny, Caerleon, Cardiff Harlequins, Monkstone, Pontyclun, SWBRC-PS, Twyn-Y-Fwrd, and the Wheatsheaf Petanque Clubs participated.

The final results after three rounds were:

The teams finishing positions 1 to 8 progressed to the President’s Cup. However, due to the number of entries, only eight teams could progress to the Plate Competition; therefore, an additional round was held to find the two teams that would progress. The decider was played between teams 15 and 17 and teams 16 and 18.

The two teams that progressed to the Plate Competition were Hugh Morris, Lianne Jones & David Blake (13/8), together with Roger Green, Harry Camfield & Francis Ryan (13/11).

President’s Cup Knock-Out Rounds

The 2024 President’s Cup winners are Jean-Yves-Robic, Julie Bailey, and Ian Bailey (SWBRC-PS), with Tony Smith, WPA President.	The 2024 President’s Cup Runners-Up are Andy Rio’s-Hall, David Long, and Gareth Coombs (Caerleon RFC PC), with Tony Smith, WPA President.

Plate Knock-Out Rounds

The Plate winners are John Attfield, Lyn Babbage, Ian Stevenson and Derek Jones (Pontyclun PC), with Tony Smith, WPA President.	The Plate Runners-Up are Alvarro Saget, Darren Hardwick, Didier Mack and Joe Williams (NP) (SWBRC-PS), with Tony Smith, WPA President.
