Rules of Play:
- FIPJP rules.
- Games will be timed.
- The lane for the first round will be allocated. Subsequent lanes will be chosen by the team winning the toss of a coin before the start of the game.
- Triples – composition of any gender.
Number of Teams: 8
Play Begins: 09h30 – latest
The games will be timed at 60 minutes. If, after 60 minutes, the game is drawn, one additional end will be played. In which the jack cannot be removed from the lane.
Competition Format: Round-Robin (All teams will play each other).
Teams will be ranked 1 to 8 using:
- Wins,
- Points difference
- Points +
The top four teams will represent the WPA at Petanque England’s Inter-Regional Championship.
Teams five and six will be the reserve teams.

THIS QUALIFICATION EVENT IS NOW A ONE-DAY EVENT AND WILL NOW TAKE PLACE ON SUNDAY 16th JUNE ONLY.

Thank you to those members who registered their interest in attending the 2024 Inter-Regional Championship and Challenge Cup organised by Petanque England (PE).
We have received the official invitation from PE, which has been accepted.
So, it is time to register your team to enter the qualifying event. Initially, we will look for 4 teams to represent Wales in the Challenge Cup. However, if there is greater interest, the main competition could be a possibility.
The championship will occur over the weekend of 14/15 September at Pakefield Holiday Park, Arbor Lane, Pakefield, Lowestoft, NR33 7BE.
The qualifier will be held at Brecon RFC PC over the weekend of 15/16 June.
