It is my sad duty to announce the passing of Dai Cannan late on Wednesday 5th, April, after a long and hard-fought illness.

He passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side.

Dai was a long-serving and integral member of the Wenvoe Petanque Club and the WPA and represented Wales at the Celtic Challenge, Home Nations and Inter-Regional Championship on many occasions.

Dai was a real character, never short of a joke or two and always had a smile and a mischievous twinkle in his eye.

The membership of the WPA sends our heartfelt condolences to Dia’s family at this very difficult time.

Details of the funeral will be announced in due course.
